SUPPORT TO BABA RAMDEV

Baba Ramdev was born in the house of an ordinary family of Gulab Devi and Ram Nivas Yadav on Dec 25, 1965, in Ali Saiyad Pur village of Mahendragarhdistrict in Haryana state of India. When he was hardly 9 years old, he used to see the framed pictures of Pt. Ram Prasad 'Bismil' and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in his room. A thought invoked his mind-"When these persons can become the icons why can't he?". Later on when he read the Autobiography of Ram Prasad 'Bismil', his mind became restless. Till then he had completed the eighth standard of his school education from a nearby village Shahjadpur. He then joined Arsh Gurukul, Khanpur under the guidance of Achary Pradumn to study Sanskrit and Yog. Eventually when he came in the contact of another saint Achary Baldevji, he renounced worldly life and entered into Sanyas in the young age like Swami Ram Teerth - changing his old name of Ram Krishna into the present one of Swami Ramdev.[1]The Hindi word 'Swami' means Master of Conscience. He then went to Jind district of Haryana and joined the Kalva Gurukul where he offered free training of Yog to villagers across Haryana. He spent several years in undertaking the study of ancient Indian scriptures at Gurukul Kangari, Haridwar. There he read another rare book of Aurbindo Ghosh- Yogik Sadhan which which was translated from Bengla into Hindi by Ram Prasad 'Bismil'. After reading this small booklet he went to the caves of Himalaya and practised there intense self-discipline and meditation. Not only he raises the issues but also suggests the solutions which seem to be revolutionary based on the economic science. First of all he gives a concrete suggestion by which the use of black money can be eradicated.[11] The six point solution suggested by him are: 1. Withdrawal and demonetizing of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes - so as to avoid misuse of unaccounted money and quick arrest of the entire locally circulated black money, bribing, and fake note traffic. 2. Agree to and accept the U.N. Convention against Corruption – pending since 2006. 3. Death penalty provision for the corrupt persons in Indian Penal Code. 4. Access, monitor and disrupt payment gateway servers enabling corrupt people to manage money in tax heavens. 5. Scrutinizing accounts of people having credit/debit cards of foreign banks without any foreign work/relation. and 6. Disabling operations of any bank from a tax heaven country.
Since he has publicly raised the issue of Indian money stashed away illegally in Swiss Bank which is estimated to be anywhere between 1 to 1.5 trillion USD. He says that the government must take immediate action and bring back the money as it belongs to the people of India. Not only this he openly charges that this black money has been taken out of the country illegally and also very strongly demands a capital punishment to all those Indians or N.R.I.s, who acquire, handle and stash black money and retrieve our country in great peril. He suggests that Mauritius route is a tax heaven for black money operators in India and this route should be cut effectively by the Indian government [12] He also charges that currency of higher denomination is the root cause for enabling convenient bribing and handling of black money and this should be immediately withdrawn.[13] When most of the developed countries in the world do not have currency of high denominations, why is India having such currencies circulating, encouraging unaccounted transactions and thus increasing corruption.
Swami Ramdev proposes that the black money stashed in foreign banks by Indian individuals should be declared national property to retrieve our country from foreign exploitation. He also emphasizes that money kept in foreign banks actually belongs to India and it should be immediately brought to India. Not only proposes but he strongly demands also to the Indian government for immediate declaration of the black money kept by Indian politicians and businessmen in Swiss Banks as national property, so that the money could be used for the welfare of the common man when it is brought back to the country. And in the last he suggests that no pardon should be given to any body who handled black money or stashed black money in foreign banks whosoever he be. Notwithstanding, he or she should be given capital punishment or life long imprisonment.Ramdev has clarified in so many yog shivir to the public that he had no political ambitions nor he is running away from the society to observe penance at the Himalayas. But he feels his obligatory duty to reform social and political ambiguities apart from popularising yoga and thus strengthening each individual and nation of India.[27] He also suggest that a political system already exist in India but it is the duty of every citizen not to create more political parties. In stead he must remain vigilant and confirm that the elected government is delivering its duty or not.
Recently Swami Ramdev declared at Bangalore that a people's movement to liberate the country from rampant corruption and build a strong spiritual Bharat, would be launched by him from June 4, 2011 in Delhi. This movement will be the second phase of Bharat Swabhiman Yatra and it is named as Persistance Against Corruption.[28] He declared one of the main objective of the movement is to root out the corruption and bring back the black money stashed away in various financial institutions in the country and abroad.
He is known for his efforts in popularizing yog as it is enunciated in Patanjali Yog Sutra. He is also one of the founder members of the Divya Yog Mandir Trust, Haridwar, whose aim is to popularize Yog and Ayurved in the general public. The New York Times calls him an Indian, who built Yoga Empire, a product and symbol of the New India, a yogic fusion of Richard SimmonsDr. Oz and Oprah Winfrey, irrepressible and bursting with Vedic wisdom".[2] His yoga-camps are attended by a large number of people in India and abroad.
Eventually, he has started a countrywide programme of awakening the common man against the present political system of India under the banner of Bharat Swabhiman Trust. The office of the said trust is situated in the premises of Divya Yog Mandir Trust, Haridwar
